Why Your Business Needs a Custom Facebook Landing Page
The December newsletter briefly touched on Facebook marketing and the reasons why having a Facebook landing page is important. Some of you got back to us letting us know that the shortened links were not working properly. Here they are again: Mikaya Press which was designed by Lesley Ehlers Design and built by us, Tracking Dog Supply, and Shero Designs. Please don’t forget to like our Facebook fan page if you haven’t liked it yet. I investigated the subject further and wrote a whole article on what the benefits of a custom Facebook landing page are. To find out more read below:
In order to gain exposure and build your business through Facebook, it is crucial that your business has a Facebook page, which is easy to set up and it doesn’t involve any maintenance costs. Regardless of the fact that almost every business has a Facebook page, not all business pages on Facebok are optimized and used to their full potential. One of the common characteristics for Facebook business pages is the absence of a custom landing page. For those that don’t know what a custom Facebook landing page is please visit our Facebook page here: www.facebook.com/sherodesigns. Statistically Facebook pages that have a custom landing page get up to 50% more “Likes” from their visitors and turn them into fans. A custom landing page can help drive traffic, add value to your online marketing efforts, and increase leads. Below you will find some of the benefits a custom landing page provides for your business.
1) Emphasize a Call to Action.
A landing page talks directly to visitors who haven’t liked your page yet. Your call to action can show who you are and direct the visitor to take action by liking your page in exchange for a coupon, a whiter paper, a free downloadable e-book, or an industry related newsletter. You can use a custom landing page as a way to extend the reach of your lead generating efforts.
2) Makes Your Business Personable
Facebook business pages look-alike. They are all plain and use the generic layout provided by Facebook. A well designed custom landing page makes your business stand out and in the same time it helps you connect to your audience and reinforce your brand.
Benefits of Joining Your Regional Chamber of Commerce
After putting it on hold for more than a year, we recently joined the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce. On Wednesday the 25th I visited their monthly networking event at the Shadows on the Hudson. Here are my observations at the event and what the Chamber is and is not.
Above all, the Chamber of Commerce is a partnership of business owners and professionals working together to build a better community through collaboration, trust, expertise and long-lasting relationships. The cost to become a member of the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce is $350 a year. Costs may vary depending on your location and regional Chamber you join. Regardless of the cost, being a member of a Chamber of Commerce has many advantages.
Spending the big bucks on advertising your business? Social media has revolutionized the way customers find what they need and the way companies communicate with their clients. To let people know about your services or products you have to be where your customers hang out. Where do they hang out? On Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. At least in the US, in 2012 Facebook is projected to get more daily traffic than Google. The following video says it all:
Now, some of you may say that it is too much to keep track of, but if you don’t do it your competitors will, and you are missing out big time. Plus that is an excellent and inexpensive way to spread the word and grow your brand.
A different approach to marketing: Inbound Marketing
To generate leads most marketers today use traditional marketing such as trade shows, seminar series, email blasts, cold calling, advertising, and outsourced telemarketing, which are all called outbound marketing methods. These marketing techniques are getting less and less effective for two reasons. First, the average person is hit with over 2000 outbound marketing interruptions per day and to cope with it we are developing more and more ways to block them out, including caller ID, spam filtering, and satellite radio. Second, the cost of reaching your target market and for customers finding what they want through search engines, blogs, and social media is much lower than the TV ad or traveling to a trade show.
